Custom Lingerie Boxes
Lingerie packaging has one of the most specific emotional briefs of any fashion product. Intimate apparel is purchased primarily as a gift – for a partner, for a milestone occasion, or as a personal indulgence – and the packaging communicates the intimacy and care of that gifting intention before the product is seen. A beautifully presented lingerie box communicates romance, luxury, and consideration. Generic or poor packaging communicates the opposite, and in this category, that mismatch is felt particularly acutely.
The visual language of lingerie packaging is also specific and well-established. The category has a strong aesthetic tradition – soft colours, refined typography, delicate design elements, premium materials – that consumers recognise and respond to. Packaging that sits outside this visual tradition feels incongruous in the lingerie context. The intimacy of the product demands packaging that feels personal and considered.
Lingerie packaging also serves a practical function that affects its specification. Delicate fabrics – silk, lace, satin – can be damaged by contact with abrasive surfaces. Packaging that allows the garment to shift and catch on rough interior surfaces risks pulling or snagging the fabric. The interior of a lingerie box needs to be smooth, soft, and configured to hold the garment in a position that doesn’t stress the most delicate elements of the construction.
Our custom lingerie boxes are manufactured to suit the specific product format, brand positioning, and market context of your intimate apparel business. We’ve been supplying lingerie and fashion packaging to Australian businesses since 2017.

Lingerie Box Styles We Offer
We manufacture custom lingerie boxes across a range of styles to suit different products and occasions. All styles are available in custom sizes, materials, and finishes.
Single Piece Lingerie Boxes
A format for individual lingerie pieces – a bralette, a brief, or a chemise presented as a single gift. A single piece lingerie box needs to hold the garment in a deliberate, attractive presentation – folded precisely, positioned centrally, and arranged so that the most visually appealing element of the piece is visible when the box is opened.
Available in shallow flat formats suited to folded garments, with smooth interior surfaces and tissue paper or satin lining that protects delicate fabrics. For premium lingerie brands, the folding and presentation of the garment inside the box is as much a brand expression as the box design itself.
Lingerie Set Boxes
A format for coordinated lingerie sets – a matching bra and brief, a complete boudoir set, or a multi-piece collection. Set boxes need to hold multiple pieces in a deliberate arrangement that communicates the coordination and complementarity of the set – the pieces should be positioned so their relationship to each other is immediately visible when the box is opened.
Available in larger flat formats with adequate depth for multiple folded pieces, and with interior configurations that hold each piece in a specific position. For lingerie brands whose sets are a primary product format, the set box presentation is a core brand expression.
Luxury Lingerie Gift Boxes
A format for premium and luxury lingerie gifting – fine silk, hand-finished lace, or designer intimate apparel presented as a complete luxury gift. Luxury lingerie packaging has the highest finish expectations in the intimate apparel category – rigid construction, premium exterior materials, satin ribbon, and interior satin or tissue lining that communicates the luxury quality of the garment inside.
Available with magnetic closure or ribbon tie, premium exterior laminate or material, and interior that creates a complete luxury presentation. For lingerie at premium price points, the box should feel as luxurious as the garment – a fine silk chemise in a beautiful box communicates a complete luxury experience.
Bridal and Special Occasion Lingerie Boxes
A format for bridal lingerie and special occasion intimate apparel – products purchased for weddings, honeymoons, and significant romantic occasions. Bridal lingerie packaging has a specific emotional register – celebratory, romantic, and appropriate to the significance of the occasion. White, ivory, and champagne colours with floral or delicate design elements communicate the bridal context clearly.
Available in designs suited to the bridal market, with personalisation options – names, dates, bridal monograms – that create a commemorative quality appropriate to the occasion. For lingerie brands with a significant bridal market, having a packaging format specifically designed for that context creates a more appropriate brand impression than using general packaging for a highly occasion-specific product.
DTC Lingerie Delivery Boxes
A format for lingerie brands selling direct-to-consumer – packaging that functions as both retail presentation and courier-safe delivery format. DTC lingerie packaging needs to protect delicate garments through courier delivery and create a positive unboxing experience for a consumer who’s never interacted with the brand physically.
Available in formats that combine an outer delivery box with an inner presentation box, or in single-box formats with adequate delivery protection and interior presentation quality. For DTC lingerie brands, the unboxing experience is the primary physical brand interaction – every element of the opening sequence should be designed as part of a deliberate brand experience.
Choosing the Right Lingerie Box Configuration
The garment folding and interior presentation is as important as the exterior design. A lingerie box that opens to a beautifully folded garment, positioned precisely in the centre of a tissue-lined interior, communicates care and quality. The same garment in an identical box but folded loosely and placed without thought communicates the opposite. The interior presentation brief for a lingerie box should specify exactly how the garment is folded, where it’s positioned, and what additional interior elements – tissue, ribbon, a care card – complete the presentation. For premium brands, the interior presentation standard should be trained and consistent across every box packed.
Tissue paper and interior fill are brand communication elements. In lingerie packaging, tissue paper is not just packing material – it’s a design element. Branded tissue in the brand’s signature colour, folded over the garment in a specific way, communicates that the brand has considered every detail of the presentation. A care card or brand message card placed on top of the tissue adds a personal touch that communicates the brand’s relationship with its customer. For brands that want to create a memorable unboxing experience, these interior elements deserve as much design attention as the exterior.
Fabric safety at all contact points. Delicate lingerie fabrics – silk, fine lace, chiffon, satin – are vulnerable to snagging at any point where the fabric contacts a rough or textured surface. The interior of the box needs to be smooth at every contact point – the base, the walls, and any insert surface. A tissue paper lining provides a soft barrier between the garment and the box interior. For very delicate garments, a satin interior panel eliminates any risk of contact damage.
Size labelling in DTC contexts. Lingerie is size-specific in a category where fit is critical and return rates are high. The size information on the outside of the box needs to be clear enough that the consumer can confirm they’ve received the correct size before opening the packaging, and clearly visible enough in a fulfilment context to minimise picking errors. For brands with DTC operations, the size labelling system needs to work for both the picking and packing team and the receiving consumer.
Lingerie Box-Specific Considerations
Lingerie is purchased primarily as a gift. Unlike most fashion categories where the consumer buys primarily for themselves, lingerie is purchased as a gift for a partner in a large proportion of transactions. This gifting orientation means the packaging needs to communicate gifting quality as a baseline, not as a premium option. A lingerie product that arrives in packaging that doesn’t look gift-appropriate requires the buyer to find additional gift wrapping – which is a practical inconvenience and a missed brand opportunity. For lingerie brands, packaging that’s gift-appropriate by default is a commercial requirement.
The intimacy of the product demands discretion in packaging. Lingerie delivered in obviously branded outer packaging – a box clearly labelled with the brand name in large print – can create embarrassment or privacy concerns for the recipient, particularly when delivered to a shared address or workplace. For DTC lingerie brands, having an outer packaging format that’s discreet – plain or minimally branded on the exterior – with the full brand experience inside is both a customer service consideration and a brand design decision. Many lingerie brands use plain outer mailers with the brand experience reserved for the inner box.
The Australian lingerie market has strong independent and DTC brands. The growth of Australian independent lingerie brands – selling directly to consumers through Instagram, their own websites, and specialty retail – has created a significant segment of lingerie brands where the packaging is a primary expression of the brand’s identity and values. For these brands, the packaging investment has a return that extends beyond protecting the garment – it’s a brand communication, a social media asset when shared by customers, and a physical representation of the brand’s quality positioning.
Bridal lingerie has specific occasion requirements. Bridal lingerie is purchased for one of the most significant occasions in a person’s life, and the packaging needs to communicate the significance of that occasion. A bridal lingerie gift in packaging that looks like standard everyday intimate apparel misses the emotional register of the occasion. For lingerie brands with a bridal market, having a packaging format that’s specifically appropriate to the bridal occasion – through colour, design elements, or personalisation options – creates a more meaningful and appropriate brand impression.
Seasonal gifting peaks at Valentine’s Day and Christmas. Lingerie gifting peaks sharply at Valentine’s Day and Christmas. For lingerie brands with strong seasonal gifting trade, having premium gifting formats available before these peaks – and planning production lead times accordingly – ensures the brand doesn’t miss the gifting season due to packaging availability. Air freight lead times of 3 to 4 weeks mean Valentine’s Day packaging needs to be ordered by December, Christmas packaging by October.
Print & Finishing for Lingerie Boxes
Lingerie packaging has one of the most well-defined and consistent visual aesthetics of any fashion category.
The premium lingerie aesthetic uses soft, refined design that communicates intimacy, luxury, and femininity. Blush, ivory, black, and deep jewel tones are the dominant colour palette. Typography is refined and delicate – serif typefaces, script details, or clean sans-serif in light weights. Design elements are soft and suggestive rather than bold and graphic – floral motifs, lace-inspired patterns, abstract feminine forms. Matte laminate or a soft-touch finish communicates the tactile quality of the product inside.
Luxury lingerie packaging uses the full range of premium finishing – rigid construction, soft-touch matte laminate, foil stamp or emboss on the brand mark, satin ribbon or magnetic closure, and an interior with satin lining or premium tissue. Every material choice should feel consistent with the luxury quality of the garment – a fine silk piece in a box that feels cheap undermines the product’s positioning completely.
Bridal lingerie packaging uses a specifically bridal visual register – white, ivory, or blush tones, floral or botanical design elements, and a clean, celebratory aesthetic that communicates the occasion. Personalisation options – couple names, wedding dates – create commemorative value that standard packaging doesn’t have.
DTC and independent brand packaging has more room for brand personality expression – the specific aesthetic world of the brand, communicated through colour, typography, and design elements that are specific to that brand. For independent lingerie brands with strong visual identities, the packaging is a brand statement as much as a product container.
