Custom Juice Boxes
Juice packaging covers more market segments than most other beverage categories. A mass-market orange juice carton in a supermarket, a cold-pressed green juice in a health food refrigerator, a children’s juice pouch in a lunchbox, and a premium juice gift set at a farmers market are all juice products – but the packaging requirements, the visual language, and the consumer expectations for each are almost completely different.
What they share is the baseline: juice is a liquid food product, and the packaging needs to be food safe, prevent leakage, and maintain the product’s integrity from production through to consumption. Beyond that baseline, the right packaging depends entirely on which market the product is in and who it’s being sold to.
Our custom juice packaging boxes are manufactured to suit the specific container format, product type, and market positioning of your juice range, using offset printing for high colour accuracy across all formats. We’ve been supplying juice and beverage packaging to Australian food businesses since 2017, with solutions covering retail display, refrigerated storage, and long-distance transportation.

Juice Box Styles We Offer
We manufacture custom juice packaging across a range of styles to suit different products and markets. All styles are available in custom sizes, materials, and finishes.
Retail Juice Carton Boxes
A secondary box or shipper for retail juice cartons and bottles sold through supermarkets, convenience stores, and grocery retail. The primary container – a tetra pak, a glass bottle, or a plastic bottle – handles the direct food contact requirements; the secondary box provides structural protection during transit and a retail shelf or display presence.
Available in configurations to suit standard retail carton and bottle sizes, with print options ranging from a simple brand mark and product identification through to full colour retail packaging with nutritional information and barcode placement.
Cold Press Juice Boxes
Packaging for premium cold-pressed juice products – glass bottles or high-quality plastic containers sold through health food retailers, specialty grocers, and direct-to-consumer channels. Cold press juice occupies the premium end of the juice market, and the packaging needs to communicate that positioning.
Cold press juice boxes are typically single-bottle or small multi-unit formats with a print and finish treatment that reflects the premium, health-conscious positioning of the product. Clean design, ingredient-forward communication, and materials that suit a refrigerated retail environment are the core requirements.
Juice Gift Set Boxes
A format for premium juice gifting – a curated selection of juices, a juice and wellness product combination, or a cold press juice cleanse kit presented as a gift. Juice gift sets are a growing product category in the Australian health food and wellness market, and the packaging needs to present as a considered gift rather than a bundled retail product.
Available with custom interior configurations to hold multiple bottles or containers in a deliberate arrangement, with finishing options suited to the gifting market. Common applications include wellness gifting, corporate health gifts, and Christmas and Mother’s Day gift sets.
Children’s Juice Packaging
Packaging specifically designed for the children’s juice market – small portion sizes, kid-friendly visual design, and compliance with the labelling requirements relevant to products marketed to or consumed by children. Children’s juice packaging has a distinct visual language – bright colours, friendly characters or illustrations, and a format that appeals to both children and the parents making the purchase.
Available in single-serve and multi-pack configurations to suit lunchbox portions and family retail multipacks. The print and design approach for children’s packaging is fundamentally different to adult health food packaging, and the two should not be treated as variations on the same brief.
Wholesale Juice Shipper Boxes
A corrugated format for bulk transit and wholesale delivery of bottled juice products. Juice shippers need to protect glass or plastic containers from breakage and deformation during freight, with dividers between each bottle and a base construction robust enough for the combined weight of a fully loaded case.
Print requirements for wholesale shippers are typically simple – brand identification, product name, quantity, and storage instructions. For direct-to-consumer juice delivery and subscription services, a more considered outer box design extends the brand through the delivery experience.
Choosing the Right Juice Box Configuration
The configuration decisions for juice packaging depend primarily on the container format, the temperature requirements of the product, and the sales channel.
Container format affects everything. A glass bottle, a plastic bottle, a tetra pak carton, and a flexible pouch all have different shapes, weights, and fragility profiles. Glass is heavy and breakable – it needs inserts and dividers. Plastic is lighter and less fragile but can deform under pressure. Tetra pak cartons are rectangular and stack efficiently but have specific dimension requirements. Flexible pouches need a supporting structure inside the box to maintain their shape. The container format is the first input into the packaging specification, not an afterthought.
Cold-pressed vs shelf-stable juice have different material requirements. Cold-pressed juice is typically sold refrigerated and has a short shelf life – often three to five days. Packaging for cold-pressed juice spends its entire life in cold, humid conditions, which means the material needs to maintain structural integrity and print quality in those conditions. Shelf-stable juice in a sealed tetra pak or glass bottle doesn’t have the same refrigeration requirement, but may be exposed to heat during transit – particularly in Australian summer conditions – which creates a different set of material considerations.
Single serve vs multipack vs gift set. A single-serve juice bottle for a cafe fridge, a four-pack for a supermarket shelf, and a curated gift set of six cold-pressed varieties are three completely different packaging briefs. Single serve packaging prioritises retail presence and convenience. Multipack packaging prioritises structural efficiency and value communication. Gift set packaging prioritises the presentation and unboxing experience. Each format needs its own specification.
Children’s vs adult market sizing. Children’s juice products are typically sold in smaller portion sizes – 200ml to 250ml – while adult juice products range from 250ml single serves to one-litre retail formats. The box dimensions, the handle configuration, and the grip size all need to be appropriate for the intended user. A children’s juice multipack that a child can carry independently has different physical requirements to an adult juice multipack.
Juice-Specific Considerations
A few properties of juice that affect packaging decisions in ways specific to this category.
Juice is a liquid food product and leakage prevention is non-negotiable. Unlike dry food products where a packaging failure results in a spill, a leaking juice package can contaminate other products, damage retail display units, and create a food safety issue if the leaked product is consumed. The packaging – whether a primary container or a secondary box – needs to prevent any leakage under all handling conditions. For glass bottle products, this means adequate protection against breakage; for tetra pak and flexible formats, it means a construction that doesn’t allow the primary container to be punctured or compressed during transit.
Cold press juice has a very short shelf life and requires fast-moving packaging. Cold-pressed juice typically has a shelf life of three to five days under refrigeration. This means the entire supply chain from production to consumption is compressed – the packaging needs to be available in adequate quantities to match production scheduling, and any delays in packaging supply have a direct impact on production. For cold press producers, packaging lead times and stock management are operational considerations, not just procurement ones.
Nutritional and ingredient labelling is dense for juice products. Juice products sold in retail channels require nutritional information panels, ingredient declarations, allergen information, and in some cases country of origin labelling. For cold press and health food juices, the ingredient list and nutritional profile are often primary selling points – consumers in this market read labels carefully and make purchasing decisions based on what they find. The print design needs to accommodate all required information alongside the brand design without making the label feel cluttered or difficult to read.
The children’s juice market has specific safety and labelling requirements. Products marketed to or consumed by children are subject to specific labelling requirements in Australia, including allergen declarations and restrictions on certain marketing claims. The packaging design for children’s products also needs to avoid visual elements that might mislead children about the nature of the product. If your product is targeted at children, the labelling and design brief should be reviewed for compliance before finalising the artwork.
Cold press and health food juice has a distinct packaging aesthetic. The specialty juice and cold press market in Australia has a strong and well-established visual language – clean design, minimal ingredient lists, natural colour palettes, and a transparency-forward approach that communicates the health credentials of the product. Packaging that looks processed, artificial, or cluttered is incongruous in this market regardless of the quality of the juice inside. The packaging brief for a premium cold press juice brand is as much a brand and design exercise as it is a structural specification.
Refrigerated retail environments require moisture-resistant materials. Cold press juice and premium refrigerated juice products are displayed in open refrigeration units where condensation is a constant condition. Packaging that hasn’t been specified for refrigerated retail environments will absorb moisture and lose structural integrity over the display period – which means the product on the shelf will look increasingly damaged as the day progresses. Material specification for refrigerated juice products needs to account for continuous cold and humid conditions throughout the expected display period.
Print & Finishing for Juice Boxes
Juice packaging spans a wide visual range – from bold, colourful children’s packaging to clean, minimal premium health food design – and the print approach needs to match the specific market.
Cold press and premium health food juice packaging has a clean aesthetic that communicates transparency and quality. White or natural backgrounds, minimal graphic elements, large ingredient callouts, and typography-led design are all common in this market. The packaging should feel honest and direct – it’s communicating to a consumer who values knowing exactly what’s in the bottle, and the design should reflect that. Matte laminate or uncoated materials suit this aesthetic better than high-gloss finishes.
Children’s juice packaging is at the opposite end of the visual spectrum – bold colours, friendly characters or illustrations, and a design that creates engagement and recognition for young consumers. Full colour printing on a gloss laminate is the standard approach. The design needs to work for both the child making the choice and the parent making the purchase, which means it needs to be appealing to children while also communicating the health and quality credentials that parents look for.
Mass retail juice packaging sits between these two extremes – distinctive enough to stand out on a supermarket shelf, informative enough to meet retail label requirements, and consistent enough to build brand recognition across a range of SKUs. Full colour printing on gloss or matte laminate is the standard approach, with the finish choice driven by the brand positioning and the competitive shelf environment.
For gift set packaging, a premium finish that communicates wellness and quality is appropriate – matte laminate, spot UV on key design elements, and a clean interior presentation that makes the gift feel considered and complete. The packaging should feel like a premium health product, not a retail multipack.
All boxes are printed using full colour printing in CMYK. Files should be supplied as Adobe Illustrator (.ai) or high-resolution print-ready PDF, with fonts outlined and graphics embedded. Free design support is included – we’ll produce a free 3D mockup for your approval before production begins, and handle minor artwork adjustments at no extra charge. Free dieline templates are available if you’re building your artwork from scratch.
