Custom Body Care Boxes
Body care packaging sits at the intersection of personal care and home lifestyle in a way that few other beauty categories do. A premium body oil, a luxury bath salt, or an artisan body scrub is as much a home object as a personal care product – it lives on a bathroom shelf, beside a bathtub, or on a dressing table, and it needs to look as considered as the space it occupies. The consumer who invests in premium body care products is making an aesthetic choice as much as a functional one, and the packaging needs to reflect both dimensions.
The Australian body care market has also diversified significantly beyond the mass-market pharmacy model. Independent and artisan body care brands – natural body butters, botanical body oils, luxury bath products – have created a premium segment that competes on ingredient quality, sensory experience, and brand identity rather than on price or retail distribution. For these brands, the packaging is a primary commercial asset: it communicates the brand’s values and aesthetic directly in the retail or DTC context where the brand’s physical presence is limited.
Body care packaging also has practical requirements that affect the specification significantly. Body care products are typically heavier than facial skincare – a 300ml body lotion, a 500g body scrub, or a large glass jar of body butter are substantially heavier than a 30ml face serum. The packaging needs to accommodate that weight structurally. And body care products often contain oils, exfoliants, and high-moisture formulations that have specific material requirements for the primary container and, where relevant, the secondary carton.
Our custom body care boxes are manufactured to suit the specific product format, brand aesthetic, and market positioning of your body care business. We’ve been supplying body care and beauty packaging to Australian businesses since 2017.

Body Care Box Styles We Offer
We manufacture custom body care boxes across a range of styles to suit different product formats and markets. All styles are available in custom sizes, materials, and finishes.
Body Lotion and Cream Boxes
A format for body lotions, body creams, and hydrating body care products. Body lotion packaging needs to communicate the product’s skin benefit – hydration, firming, smoothing – and the sensory experience of the product – the texture, the fragrance, the absorption – in a format that works in both retail and DTC contexts.
Available in secondary carton formats for pump bottles and jars, with interior configurations suited to the specific primary container dimensions. For premium body lotion brands, the secondary carton elevates the retail shelf presence and communicates brand positioning above the unboxed competition.
Body Oil Boxes
A format for body oils, dry oils, and body treatment oil products. Body oil packaging is one of the most premium formats in the body care category – body oils are typically positioned at a higher price point than lotions, and the packaging needs to match that positioning. The glass bottle that most premium body oils use is a display object in its own right, and the secondary packaging needs to showcase and protect it appropriately.
Available in formats that hold a glass bottle securely with a precisely fitted insert, preventing lateral movement during transit. For body oil brands selling through DTC channels where the product ships by courier, the insert specification needs to protect the glass bottle adequately through delivery conditions.
Body Scrub Boxes
A format for body scrubs, exfoliating treatments, and physical exfoliant body care products. Body scrub packaging typically accommodates wide-mouth jar formats, which have different dimensional requirements to standard bottle formats. The packaging needs to communicate the product’s exfoliant character – the texture, the scent, the skin benefit – and differentiate it clearly from smoother-textured body care products.
Available in carton formats suited to jar dimensions, with interior configurations that hold the jar in a stable, centred position. For premium body scrub brands with distinctive product colours or textures visible through the jar, a window configuration can showcase the product’s visual quality at the point of sale.
Bath Product Boxes
A format for bath salts, bath oils, bath bombs, and luxury bath products. Bath product packaging communicates a specific sensory experience – the ritual of a bath, the relaxation, the skin benefit – and is positioned more strongly toward gifting than most other body care formats. A beautifully packaged bath salt collection or a luxury bath oil set is a natural and well-received gift.
Available in gift-appropriate formats with premium construction and finish. For bath product brands with a strong gifting component, the packaging should communicate the gifting occasion clearly – the product’s positioning as a self-care gift or a luxury personal treat should be evident from the packaging’s design and quality.
Body Care Gift Sets
A format for curated body care collections presented as gifts – a body lotion and body scrub combination, a complete body care routine set, or a seasonal collection. Body care gift sets are one of the strongest gifting formats in the lifestyle beauty category, with peak demand at Christmas, Mother’s Day, and general appreciation occasions.
Available with custom interior configurations that hold multiple products in a deliberate arrangement, premium outer box construction, and finish suited to the gifting context. The interior composition of a body care gift set – the arrangement of products, the visual relationship between them, the overall impression when the box is opened – is as important a design decision as the exterior.
Choosing the Right Body Care Box Configuration
Product weight requires robust base construction. Body care products are significantly heavier than most facial skincare products. A 300ml pump bottle of body lotion, a 500g jar of body butter, or a 250ml glass bottle of body oil are all substantially heavier than a 30ml serum. The base construction of the secondary carton needs to support the actual weight of the filled primary container reliably. For body care brands with heavy products, the board weight specification needs to account for the product weight, particularly for products that may be stacked during retail display or courier transit.
Glass body care containers require insert protection. Premium body care products in glass bottles or glass jars are vulnerable to breakage during transport. The insert that holds the primary container inside the secondary carton needs to provide adequate lateral support to prevent the container from moving and contacting the carton walls. For DTC body care brands shipping glass containers through courier networks, the insert specification needs to be tested under courier drop conditions before being finalised. A broken glass container in a delivery is a complete product loss and a negative brand experience.
Body care gifting requires premium construction proportionate to the price point. Body care gift sets span a wide price range – from accessible gift sets at $40 to luxury collections at $150 or more. The packaging quality needs to be proportionate to the price point and communicate gifting quality consistently with the gift’s value. A premium body care collection in packaging that looks like a mass-market pharmacy product creates a value mismatch that the gift-giver and recipient both notice. For body care gift sets at the premium end of the range, rigid construction, quality laminate, and considered interior presentation are all justified by the product’s price and occasion.
Body care product textures and scents affect packaging material selection. Oily body care products – body oils, oil-based body scrubs, rich body butters – can migrate oil through standard paperboard over time, particularly in warmer storage conditions. For products with significant oil content in the primary container, the interior of the secondary carton may need an oil-resistant lining or a coating to prevent visible oil migration through the carton walls during display. For products with strong fragrance, scent migration through the carton is worth considering for retail products with extended display periods.
Body Care-Specific Considerations
The premium body care consumer makes values-based purchasing decisions. The consumer buying a $60 body oil or a $45 body scrub from an independent brand is making a purchasing decision that reflects their values – natural ingredients, sustainable production, supporting independent Australian brands, environmental consideration. The packaging is part of that values statement. A premium body care product in packaging that contradicts the brand’s values claims – non-recyclable materials for a natural brand, excessive plastic for a sustainable brand – creates an inconsistency that the engaged consumer notices and responds to negatively.
Bathroom shelf presence is a genuine commercial consideration. Body care products live on bathroom shelves for weeks or months – they’re not consumed in a single use. This creates an ongoing visual presence in the consumer’s daily environment that most other consumer products don’t have. A beautiful body care product on a bathroom shelf communicates the brand continuously throughout the product’s usage period. For body care brands, designing packaging that looks good on a bathroom shelf – that fits the aesthetic of a considered home environment – has a commercial return that extends beyond the point of purchase.
The artisan body care market is large and growing in Australia. Independent body care brands – natural body butters, botanical body oils, handmade scrubs, luxury bath products – have grown significantly in Australia, driven by consumer preference for locally made, natural, and considered personal care products. These brands compete on ingredient quality and brand identity rather than retail distribution, and the packaging is a primary competitive tool. For artisan body care brands, packaging that communicates the brand’s natural credentials, Australian origin, and artisan production values clearly and authentically is as important as the product formulation.
Body care gift sets are a gateway to brand trial. Many consumers who purchase premium body care gift sets for others end up purchasing for themselves after positive feedback from the recipient. The gift set is a brand introduction for the recipient and a brand ambassador for the giver. For body care brands, the gift set packaging is not just a commercial product – it’s a brand discovery vehicle that introduces new consumers to the brand at the moment of highest receptivity.
ACCC cosmetic labelling requirements apply to body care products with skin benefit claims. Body care products that make specific skin benefit claims – moisturising, exfoliating, firming – are subject to ACCC cosmetic labelling requirements including INCI ingredient declarations, the responsible party’s contact details, and net weight. For body care products with therapeutic-level claims – treating eczema, reducing stretch marks, treating specific skin conditions – TGA therapeutic goods requirements may apply. The claims on the packaging should be reviewed against current regulatory requirements before the artwork is finalised.
Print & Finishing for Body Care Boxes
Body care packaging has developed a rich and varied visual aesthetic that spans the full range of the beauty and home lifestyle market.
Premium artisan body care packaging uses the natural, considered aesthetic that communicates the brand’s ingredient quality and production values. Kraft or uncoated stock, botanical illustration, minimal print coverage, earth tone or natural colour palettes, and a design approach that feels handmade and specific to the brand. The packaging should feel as considered and natural as the product inside it. For body care brands with organic or natural ingredient credentials, this aesthetic communicates authenticity more effectively than a polished commercial design.
Premium lifestyle body care packaging uses a more refined version of the natural aesthetic – considered typography, quality illustration, matte laminate, and a design that communicates the product’s position as a home lifestyle object as much as a personal care product. The packaging should look appropriate displayed on a bathroom shelf or a dressing table, and should feel as aesthetically considered as any other home lifestyle purchase.
Body care gift set packaging warrants the most premium treatment in the category. Rigid construction, matte or soft-touch laminate, foil stamp or emboss on key brand elements, and an interior that presents the products as a curated collection. For premium body care gift sets at Christmas and Mother’s Day, the packaging needs to communicate genuine luxury gifting quality – it’s the first thing the recipient sees, and it sets the expectation for the products inside.
Mass-market body care packaging needs shelf impact and clear benefit communication in a competitive pharmacy or supermarket environment. Full colour printing, clear benefit claims, and a design that reads clearly at retail shelf distance are the commercial priorities.
All boxes are printed using full colour printing in CMYK. Files should be supplied as Adobe Illustrator (.ai) or high-resolution print-ready PDF, with fonts outlined and graphics embedded.
